A Day at Lucciola
The rhythm of exploration
Our days flow with a predictable yet flexible cadence that respects child-led inquiry. We gather for morning meetings, embark on outdoor investigations, and document our discoveries together.
Unstructured outdoor play and focused studio time balance the day, allowing children to express themselves in a hundred different languages.

Intentional Teaching
Our teaching is guided by careful observation and thorough documentation of the children's learning. As we discover each child's interest, we deliberately choose and place materials that will challenge and deep their knowledge.

Open-ended Materials
Open-ended materials allow children to be creative and to express themselves in different ways. These materials help widen imagination and enable endless possibilities during play.
Relationship-Driven Curriculum
The parent, the educators, and the environment are considered the three teachers that surround the child. In our preschool curriculum, the relationships of the child with the three teachers are equally essential in driving their learning.
Positive Discipline
Children will be guided through positive discipline, which will supply them the language to communicate their ideas, tools to regulate their feelings, and encouragement to solve their own problems.
Our Learning Environment
At Lucciola Academy, we believe that the environment serves as the third teacher, which allows for uninterrupted play, exploration, and investigation. The layout of the environment is thoughtfully created to accommodate the individual learning styles of the children.
Materials are carefully laid out to provoke ideas and allow flexible thinking. The areas are integrated with one another that promotes relationship, collaboration, communication, and a reflection of the outside community.
